Date: Friday, July 26, 2002 from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Where: John A. Swanson Center for
Product Innovation, University of Pittsburgh
in the basement of Benedum Hall on O'Hara St.
Directions When coming into Pitt from the North, take 79 S to 279 S into Pittsburgh. When approaching Pittsburgh take I 579 (Crosstown Blvd) across the Veterans Bridge. Take I 579 to the Blvd of the Allies Exit (Look for signs to 376 and Oakland). Once on the Blvd, go past the 376 East Exit and make your first right to the Forbes Ave Exit (It is not well marked and difficult to see. It will be approximately 200-300 yards after the 376 exit). Take the Forbes Ave. exit and proceed 7-8 lights to Bigelow Blvd. Take a left onto Bigelow Ave and cross over Fifth Ave. The Soldiers and Sailors garage is immediately on your left. Park in the garage. Benedum Engineer Hall is two streets over at the intersection of O'Hara and Thackerey Streets (BENDM on map, below). Please take the elevators to the B Level and take a right to room B-63.
For travelers coming from the
south, get on 279 and go through the Fort Pitt tunnel/bridge (inbound,
tunnel is still open). On the Fort Pitt Bridge, the should get in the right lane and take 376 East. Once on 376 they should take the
Forbes Ave. Exit and follow the identical directions as given for the North
access to campus.

Parking: There is parking available at the Soldiers and Sailors garage. I don't know the exact rate, but expect it will cost about $1 an hour. Walk about ONE block from the parking garage to Benedum Hall.
Hotel nearby: Holiday Inn (412-682-6200) is two blocks away from the center (If you need a place to stay, make your own reservations - the User's Group does not pick up room expenses)
